Beauty Research: What is Mineral Makeup?

Makeup; it is something that most women and young ladies depend on; and not just to look pretty, but to enhance our best features. However, what most women struggle with, is finding the right makeup. Why is this? It's not specifically to find the right color but to find makeup that will not irritate and breakout our luxurious skin, because beauty does not just come from the makeup, but the skin itself; and the goal for all of us makeup wearers out there is for healthy skin.

Mineral makeup is what claims to keep our skin healthy while providing beautiful coverage and wondrous natural colors. A lot of famous brands such as L’Oreal and bare minerals are very popular among most brands that give beautiful color and will keep the skin healthy. Many people from reviews on Amazon and answers on yahooanswers.com, YouTube, and many other websites claim that mineral makeup gives benefits to their skin that regular makeup does not. It really keeps our face from breaking out. There are also many other reviews that claim that mineral makeup is no better than regular makeup, it is just more expensive. However; it is important to remember that everyone's skin is different - meaning that mineral makeup will work better for some people and not so good for others.

Essentially, mineral makeup is made of just as it says, some minerals and other natural ingredients which include: titanium (all mineral makeup) that provides sun protection, zinc oxide for sun protection, sercecita mica that reduces the appearance of large pores, a mineral called talc that contains magnesium silicate hydroxide, silica for oil control, an antibacterial called boron nitride, iron oxide, and oils. Please note that not all of these ingredients are in all mineral makeup brands and these are not all the possible ingredients that can be put into mineral makeup.

Mineral makeup is sought over by many because, as mentioned, they contain natural ingredients unlike regular makeup that contains unnatural ingredients, chemicals, perfumes,parabens etc. that only gets absorbed by the skin causing irritation and breakouts.

Mineral makeup claims:

• Protects the skin from sunlight
• Prevents breakouts
• Gentle on the skin
• Reduces features of unhealthy skin
• Safe for sensitive skin

I would like to point out though, that the important thing is to find makeup that works best for you, but considering the natural ingredients and benefits from mineral makeup can't hurt to give it try.
