Maybelline Clear Smooth 8-IN-1 Skin Transformer B.B Cream SPF 26 PA+++

Hey everyone! :) Imma share with you guys this second BB cream that I've tried..EVER (First BB cream review HERE). You know, I wasn't really into makeup before. I like hoarding them (lol) but I don't use them as frequently as I do now. I'm really scared in putting any cosmetics in my face because I always think that it may cause break outs (like crazy breakouts!) and I don't like that. But as I grow older (yes I admit that I grow old!beat it!), I learn to try things differently like going out with makeup on or at least put on some lipstick & blush. :D I usually go out bare faced but now, I like putting on a little color in my face. It makes me feel..more of a lady..hee..And because I decided to be a beauty blogger, it gives me a perfect excuse to try different products, to learn how to apply 'em and of course to share my experience to my gorgeous readers. So really..I'm not just helping my readers but I'm helping myself as well. As I follow & read other blogs, I realized that I still have so much to learn but I'm ready for it! So fingers crossed for many many years! ;D

Alright, onto my review. Sorry about that. ;)

So the other day, my mom purchased a Maybelline pressed powder and they gave her this BB cream samples. My mom is not really into BB creams so I grabbed and tried this myself. I was really curious as to how this BB cream would work on my skin because to tell you the truth, I'm tempted to try it just because it has an "8-in-1" skin transformer claim..hmmm okay I'm ready! let's do this!! :D

The sample size is 1ml in a Maybelline light green color sachet. But in full size, it looks like this:

The sample size does not show any expiration date..well maybe because it's just a sample but I think it'd be nice if they also put it?I don't know..not sure.. but it has a manufacturer number though (that special code for each product). I was a bit confuse on its manufacturer. I know that other Maybelline B.B products is made from Thailand, so what made me confused is that this sample is made in China. *big grin*

Product Specifications

Texture/Consistency:

Contrary to what others say, this B.B cream is not THICK. The texture is runny but not watery, just the perfect BB cream consistency. It doesn't feel heavy on my skin, not greasy at all and easy to apply. It doesn't set quickly so if you're new to applying makeups or for this matter, BB creams in your face ,then you'll be just fine.

Coverage:

It has medium coverage but buildable. It blends in your skin really well. It does conceal imperfections but very lightly which means you still need that extra concealing. Now I don't have big pores but I don't think this one "refines & minimizes" because I really don't see the difference on my pores. The shade on the sample I got is 01 Fresh. I believe there are other 6 shades but I can't seem to find swatches in the internet. Now at first glance in the sachet, the 01 Fresh shade seemed to be the perfect shade for me but when I applied it, I realized it's a bit lighter and I don't like that. I'm looking for a BB cream that I can use daily in school (with higher SPF!) and I'm looking for that 'natural' shade so I think the 02 Natural Beige of this BB cream will work out fine for me.

Finish:

This BB cream gave me a dewy healthy glow which I really like. Much like of a Korean skin. Yes a bit flawless but it gives you the fear of having an oily face later. This is why Filipinas don't like that dewy look, we prefer to have a glowing matte finish. But for me, dewy look is okay especially if it's cold season..but since it's summer and I sweat a lot, I can't rely on this BB cream alone so no dewy look for me. I still need to apply powder. But for today (as I want to test the BB cream), I didn't apply any powder at all just to test if it can control the oil. (I have a normal/oily combination skin by the way.) And in just few hours from applying, my T-zone started to look shiny..uh oh!I'm in twubble! :D Although, I have to commend this BB cream for not caking even though I sweat a lot in my forehead and in my nose.

My VERDICT:

Pros:

• It gives my skin a dewy healthy look.
• It has SPF which is a big plus for me.
• Blends in my skin really well.
• Not cakey (even though I sweat a lot).
• It does not oxidize.
• Feels light on my skin and not greasy at all.
• Has many shades.
• Available everywhere at very affordable price.
• No strong smell

Cons:

• It conceals imperfections very lightly.
• It only gives medium coverage (but buildable)
• Does not control oil.
• Must be set with a powder else you'll have shiny skin in just a matter of few hours.
• Does not last all day.

Purchase the full size? ahm I don't think so. I still have to try the samples that I got and I think from my samples stash, I may find a better BB cream than this one. For an affordable drugstore BB cream, this one does its job real nice but as I said, I can find a better one. ;) Plus, I need a BB cream that has higher SPF so.yeah. :D

And soooo overall: If you're someone that doesn't sweat a lot or has a normal/dry skin, then this BB cream will work great on you. It blends really well, light on skin and very easy to apply. Good for the starters and for those who are tight in budget. ;)
