ELF (Eyes Lips Face) Studio Powder Brush

ELF Studio Powder Brush

Hey ladies! Are you still struggling to find the perfect brush to dust on your magical powder foundation? Well then stay tune because I have a lovely treat to review for you.

Last week, I had my second wishlist post which you can find HERE. The wishlist post was all about ELF products that I want to buy. As written there, I haven't tried any ELF products yet and I'm oh so giddy to share this when I received goodies with an "ELF" item on it. Weeks ago, a package was sent to me by my blogger friend from UK. And today, ta da! An ELF brush! woohooo! (and other extra goodies too!) My friend wants me to try this great brush saying she had one for over a year now and it's still in good condition.

Product Claims:

  • For application of powder foundation

Product packing:

Unfortunately, I do not have the packaging available, but the brush comes in a simple tight plastic casing. I cannot say that the plastic casing is that great for keeping the brush in at all times, bacteria can easily build up because you are using the brush on your face and then constantly putting it back into the plastic casing. So, I recommend that you buy a less compacted (roomy) container for your makeup brushes, or simply leave them in a simple cup, to keep bacteria from building up. (make sure to clean your brush regularly) Although the packaging is nothing special, that is not specifically what I am reviewing for you guys. Now, let’s quickly direct our attention to the brush, shall we ^o^.

Product specifications:

Texture: This is what makes this product great. I found that a lot of brushes tend to be too rough, and so they hurt or irritate my face. This brush, however, is a wonder; it is so soft you wouldn't believe that the brush is just simple synthetic hairs. The brush is so light and fluffy that if it were a size of a bed I would fall straight asleep in it (really not kidding XD).

Brush: The hairs are very thin, and each fills every spot of the brush, no gaps, to ensure that you can achieve a full and even coverage with your foundation. This brush comes with a nice simple plastic cover that acts as a cover or can be used for making your brush hairs more loose to cover a broad area of space by moving the plastic cover lower towards the handle, or making the hairs more compact giving a more defined look for certain parts of the face.

What is special about this brush is that, it is a flat based brush and so soft that it picks up the powder of your makeup very easily, without much effort. And that it ensures to grab every particle of foundation so that it gets applied to your face.(my favorite thing about this brush :D).

Longetivity: Lasts pretty much long; My friend said she had it for over a year now and it is still in great shape for applying makeup, and absolutely NONE of the hairs have fallen out; amazing right?

Finnish: This brush gives your face that perfect natural look; your makeup is applied evenly and without any irritation to your face.

Price: I researched online and can you believe that this brush is only $3-4 (U.S. dollars)?… yup just $3.00, (around 200php?)and you can purchase this at many of your fave online stores such as Ebay,Meijer, Target, online, etc. If you're in UK, you can buy it in UK ELF store at only £3.75

Here's a tip: I do not recommend that you buy ELF products on Amazon, because they are simply too overpriced.

How do you use it?

Simply apply the brush to your powder foundation, and apply how you normally would; however, be careful with this brush because it easily picks up powder, so gently dab your brush into your foundation.

Beauty Tip: Apply your foundation with this brush in circular motions, moving, and spreading the foundation all over your face.

My VERDICT:

Pros:

  • Applies makeup nice and evenly, giving your makeup a nice finish on your face
  • Soft hairs
  • Flat based brush
  • Lasts a long time
  • Reasonable price

Cons:

  • Packaging is not good to keep the brush in.

I’d give it a:

Packaging: 3/5
Texture: 5/5
Longetivity: 5/5
Brush: 5/5
Price: 5/5

Product: 4.5/5

Repurchase: Definitely Repurchase (whenever I want another one since this will last a pretty long time).

And sooo… overall:

To finish this review off… ELF has many many more different studio brushes with the same softness in texture; I highly recommend you look into that.

This product review is set and finished; hope it was helpful, and good-luck to you ladies ^_^!

  1. I wanna have this brush for a long time, and you just convinced me to purchase one. Do you have a suggestion for a good flat foundation brush? :)

    1. Hi sis! :) ..I really love this brush, you should buy one. :) For a flat foundation brush, I think you should try Estee Lauder's (I've read in some blogs that it really does its job) although I heard MAC is a good one too. I'm using Ecotool's foundation brush, it was an "okay" brush. But I want the Estee Lauder. :( hehe..
