Late post: Unboxing my March 2013 Saladbox (Rants-Disappointments)



Well hello there! :D How are you guys doing? ;) I hope everyone is having a blast on their weekend. Enjoy it guys while you can because tomorrow is another day..lol..I mean the start of another week. Know what that means? Work time! No more chillin' ,no more 'pampering myself' time. Just plain wooorrrk! I know right? But that's how it is. I, myself, have been busy with work plus I tried to revamp my blog. I want it to be as simple as possible. hehe. But I'm back! I will now share with you folks about my unboxing experience in my March subscription boxes. I know it's late but you know what they say..It's better late than never! ;D

The first post for my "unboxing" series here in my blog would be about my March Saladbox. If you have been following me on Twitter or Facebook, you know that I've been ranting on March Saladbox arriving late. Yes! It was really late, like I received it on 2nd week of April! I mean, what the? There's a reason why we call it March box right? So I was really upset. I was waiting for like forever. I've been reading bloggers' unboxing posts and mine still hasn't arrive. Sorry guys, I don't want to be a downer here but Saladbox' service is just poor


This would be my FIRST and LAST Saladbox!


Alright here it is, my March Saladbox.(no exclamation point for this one because I'm not happy!) lol Such a kid! ;D *Will do some quick review on some items as well.

And oh! They forgot to include this 'important' card in some batches of March box. So they send it thru email instead. GOSH Saladbox! SERIOUSLY??

Alyssa Ashley Musk Eau de Toilette

I love Musk! I love the smell. Although I'm not really excited with this one because I've seen their December box and this one is included in it. It is such a let down that they keep sending the same samples. I mean, subscribers are looking forward to new samples each month, why sending the same one over and over again?? 





Carmex Click Stick with SPF in Original

This is the first time I bumped into this brand and I'm telling you, "NOT loving it!" Apologies to Carmex fans but I really don't like this lip balm. I don't like the smell. It's too strong. It has a waxy scent..orrr I don't know. And it's too heavy - sticky on my lips. I really don't like it. Yes this is a full size but I don't think it's worth it. I'd rather buy EOS which is far better lip balm than this one. And again, Saladbox has been sending Carmex products from last year's boxes. Such a disappointment.

Not excited with this one since I also got a pair from my March Glamourbox. It's so funny that my mom actually bought a full size one even before my March boxes arrived so yeah, I gave 4 of these away to my friend. On the brighter side, I love this lotion. It smells nice, non-greasy. I'm not sure if the 'lightening' claim is true but I think this would be a great body moisturizer. :)




Ysabel's Daughter Revitalizing Facial Serum

I don't know if I'd be happy or insulted. For one, this is a facial serum so I think it would be nice to try for the first time BUT! I've seen this on Salabox's January box. Is it me or are they sending me excess samples from past boxes?? Where's the surprise?? geez! I tried to apply this serum on my face (after applying my nightly routine of course) and I don't know, it has a weird smell. I have a sensitive nose and I think the smell is too strong. And is it really supposed to have a watery consistency? When I pumped the bottle(it's always a plus when a bottle has a pump-so hygenic!), I spilled some of the content. I expected a cream-like consistency, to my surprise, it's like a milk on my hand. Like seriously! I was worried. Are serums always like that? - I don't like this so I gave this to my mom.



Mir and Ryvi Tomato Soap

My first impression: too small! I know, I know, subscription boxes are supposed to give you sample products but duh? Soaps are inexpensive. Does it hurt to include a full size one? This soap is really small. I think it's only 1/4 of your regular sized soap. I know right? This soap is supposed to be for acne-prone skin, I don't remember putting that up in my beauty profile. I mean, what's the sense of beauty profiling if they don't give you the product that's right for your skin type right? - This is not for me so again, I gave this to my mom.






A treat??


When I received Salabox's email with the complimentary card attached, I immediately read if there's other special discounts, vouchers etc.. On the last message, there was a treat! 15% subscriber discount and I was like yey! Finally, Saladbox make up for the poor box they sent me. BUT then, when I visited their online shop, I really couldn't find any items that I like. Why? Have you noticed? Their items are too expensive!! I really can't say that the brands are higher-end. So yeah..Why the price tag Saladbox? :| 

Okay, so why not use the discount code for another box you might ask? Well, after what I received for my first box, I don't think I'll ever subscribe again! First time experience: two thumbs down! Last night, Saladbox announced that they're having a special Missha box. I admit, I was excited and tempted to subscribe. I was thinking of breaking the rules and giving them second chance. I was about to reload my debit card and then, on another tab, I check out their site..


boom! No Missha box for Saladlite subscribers! bohoo!


Again, Saladbox disappointed their subscribers. I actually rechecked before I sleep because I was having this "to subscribe or not to subscribe" feeling. And then it is stated that you can still get the Missha box but for 800php which cost more than their regular box. (I don't know if they removed that option but I don't see it anymore on their site or maybe I was not checking clearly?) And then I was thinking, "BDJ had a special L'oreal box but the price is still the same with their regular fee(480php)" so yeah, I didnot subscribe again to Saladbox.


Scenario:


Before the holiday (holy week) last Month, Saladbox offered free samples to their subscribers. No they don't include it in your box. No it's not free shipping. No you can't have every "free" sample that you like, there's a limit of only 1(ONE) sample or a combination.


Facebook conve:


Me(April 7): Hi, the box still didnot arrive  can I have the tracking number so I could check it?


No response.


Me(April 8): Saladbox, my box still didnot arrive.Also, I have paid for that free sample promo?DIdnot receive it also.


Saladbox(April 8): Hey CJ! You box and the free samples were at the courier already. You will be receiving them on Thursday or Friday--we already confirmed with our partner courier!


Me(April 9): Did you add my free samples to my box?Can't you just refund my shipping fee then on the free samples?? 


Saladbox(April 9):Hey CJ! Sadly, we cannot refund the shipping fee on the samples--the free samples and your box were picked up at different days, so we were charged twice, even if the packages are of the same address. They might deliver your packages in one big bag though, to ensure that they won't be separated during transit. 


HHMMMMM......


The box didnot arrive that week. Instead, it arrived late the next week.


  • The box came in a regular sized packaging of LBC together with the free sample/s that I got (Sakura hand and foot lotion). Note: it's not packaged in a large LBC pouch or atleast packaged individually. It doesn't have separate tracking number also. Know what that means? The items were delivered to LBC all at the same time, the same packaging, the same transaction, the same tracking number. hmmm.. ;)


  • When I opened the box, it doesn't have the complimentary card. It looks like they assembled the items inside at the last minute. Noticed that the samples were the same samples of their previous boxes? I checked out other blogger's boxes and they have different  items. The only items that are common is the Avon lotion.




  • When I was asking them to give me the tracking number, they didn't respond. What's that suppose to mean???




  • Even after I tagged them in a post where I rant about the March Saladbox, they didn't do anything to make me feel a little better. They just ignored me. Thus, making me more upset. :| :| :|




Final thoughts:



I'm really really sorry guys for a rather long post. I just had to let it all out 'coz if I don't, I feel like my heart would explode. I'm just so pissed right now. I really hate it when a certain company has bad/poor service. And Saladbox is no excemption. So disappointed.



Is it worth the PhP500 subscription fee?NO.
Would I recommend it? Big NO.
Would I subscribe again? NO.


I think Saladbox is having problem with their customer service (obvious much?:D) The company itself is downgrading (I'm not sure if that's the word)..I think..They are losing their subscribers due to poor boxes in previous months and in hoping to gain them back, they announced to have a special Missha box. But limiting them to 3,6 or 12 month subscribers is just another disappointment. Unless they do something right, Saladbox will be in big trouble.

  1. Ugh-oh SALADBOX is really screwing it up big time... They're MAY box would be a special edition MISSHA BOX, that costs a whooping 800 bucks! Even if it were Missha I wouldn't spend 800 for some samplers.

    1. I agree sis.I wouldn't spend 800php just for another samples unless some of them are full size (they mentioned the items are all samples).I would rather buy full size items directly from Missha.tsk2.

    1. Your welcome sis. :) I have read other blogger's March unboxing post also, although they are happy with some items (and by some - 1-2 items only) they swear to not subscribe again. Last year pa daw nagbibigay ng poor service ang Saladbox. I was hoping March box would be fine so I tried.And now I regret it.tsk2.

  3. Such a huge disappoitment talaga. The 500 pesos that I subscribed to them could have been used to purchase other items, not crappy ones. Good review Sis, you're just being honest so no need to apologize.
